Industrial aseptic ketchup is processed from mature, whole, red, vine-ripened tomatoes that are chopped, scalded, finished and concentrated into tomato paste. Additional ingredients including water, evaporated cane juice, vinegar, salt, onion power and natural flavors complete the product formulation. The product is sterilized, cooled and aseptically filled prior to strapping, labeled and warehousing.

Tomato Tip

Bostwick is a test that measures the Viscosity of our tomato products. This test uses a measuring tool (a consistometer). The test determines the viscosity by measuring how far the tomato sauce flows down a steel trough in a 30 second time period.  It is measured in terms of centimeters, so the lower the Bostwick measurement the shorter the distance it traveled down the trough during that 30 second time period, meaning it is a thicker sauce.  If you have questions about what bostwick is best for your end product, give us a call!

If I had to choose one thing that was my favorite aspect of working with One Source Food Solutions, it would be professionalism. I love that from One Source; every email I have sent, or every question I have asked them, has been answered in a timely manner, even if I don’t like the answer to my question 🙂 Having a timely response means I know what the next step I need to take is.
